Las Vegas Serenata is a premier live music ensemble specializing in weddings and special events throughout Las Vegas and Southern Nevada. Featuring two flutes and piano, the ensemble offers a distinctive and elegant sound that enhances every stage of a celebration, from the arrival of guests to the final moments of the reception.

Christy Camba, f lute
Venezuelan flutist Christy began her musical training through the renowned Venezuelan System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs. She continued her studies at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory in Caracas and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance from the National Experimental University of the Arts (UNEARTE).
As an orchestral musician, Camba performed for seven years with the Caracas Symphony Orchestra, appearing in major concert halls across the United States, Europe, and Asia, including Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Musikverein in Vienna, and the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. She has worked under conductors including Gustavo Dudamel, Christian Vásquez, Eduardo Marturet, Alfredo Rugeles, and Diego Matheuz, and has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in Venezuela. Her chamber music experience includes a variety of ensembles and performances at the Latin American Music Festival in Caracas.
In addition to performing, Camba has maintained a strong commitment to music education. She taught within Venezuela’s national orchestra system and, after relocating to the United States, continued her work as both an educator and performer. In 2022, she joined the Iowa City Flute Choir before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2024, where she established a private flute studio and taught with the Oakland Symphony’s MUSE program in local schools. In 2025, she launched the first after-school wind instrument program at Global Family School. During her time in the Bay Area, Camba also served as a flute festival adjudicator, presented masterclasses, and was a resident teaching artist with the Berkeley Youth Orchestra, while performing at events throughout San Francisco.
Now based in Las Vegas, she continues to teach through her private studio, Flute Duo Studio, while maintaining an active performing career. Most recently, she performed in Jeezy’s TM:101 Live – The Legend of the Snowman residency at Planet Hollywood with the Color of Noize Orchestra, conducted by Derrick Hodge.
Christian Bohnenstengel, piano
Praised by the German press as “a master of contrasts” and for his ability to place audiences “in a state of sheer awe,” pianist Christian enjoys a multifaceted career as a soloist, chamber musician, jazz performer, recording artist, and educator. His performances have taken him throughout the United States, South America, Europe, and Asia.
Recent appearances include Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Orchestra of Southern Utah, Richard Addinsell’s Warsaw Concerto with the Southern Nevada Symphony Orchestra, and Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. He is equally active in classical and jazz settings and is a founding member of Southern Utah University’s faculty jazz ensemble, Kind of Blue.
A frequent presenter at regional, national, and international conferences, Bohnenstengel has also appeared on public radio and has been featured on numerous recordings. Critics have praised both his collaborative artistry and his original compositions, which appear on recent jazz albums and chamber music recordings.
Originally from southern Germany, he earned degrees from Missouri Western State University and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he completed both Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees. Since 2011 he has served as Director of Keyboard Studies at Southern Utah University, where his students have continued to prestigious graduate programs in the United States and abroad.
Javier Montilla, f lute
A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Javier has built an international career that bridges classical performance, Latin American music, chamber music, composition, and music publishing. He began his musical studies in Venezuela’s celebrated El Sistema program and later performed with youth orchestras and professional ensembles before joining the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra.
Montilla earned degrees in flute performance from the University Institute of Musical Studies in Caracas (IUDEM/UNEARTE), the University of Colorado Boulder, and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he completed doctoral studies. Throughout his career he has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician, and recitalist in North and South America and has collaborated with artists from a wide range of musical traditions.
His artistic interests extend beyond the traditional flute repertoire. A dedicated advocate for Venezuelan and Latin American music, he has performed with ensembles such as The Agermos CMP, The Mochima Ensemble, Projeto Novo SF, and the Pérez–Montilla Duo, presenting both standard and newly created repertoire. His work as a composer and arranger has further contributed to the dissemination of Latin American music for woodwind instruments.
